“ONE BELT ONE ROAD” INITIATIVE
China’s One Belt One Road Initiative aims to build connectivity and co-operation across six main economic corridors encompassing China and: Mongolia and Russia; Eurasian countries; Central and West Asia; Pakistan; other countries of the Indian sub-continent; and Indochina. The project also involves building a large network of roads, railways, maritime ports, power grids, oil and gas pipelines, and associated infrastructure projects for creating trade lanes to Eastern and Western Europe. The second stage of the project is called the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road,” which is sea-based and connects China’s southern coast to the Mediterranean, Africa, South-East Asia, and Central Asia. COSCO carefully monitors such developments and aims to provide the existing and upcoming benefits to its customers globally.
